When I was experimenting with alternative resolutions on the cg14, I
found that the horizontal resolution - and therefore scanlines in
memory - apparently had to be a multiple of 32 pixels (not bits).
http://www.sunhelp.org/pipermail/rescue_sunhelp.org/2008-August/124772.html
is the archived copy of a list post I made to one of the the sunhelp
lists about this; the last paragraph outlines the resolution issue.
The archive has mangled it slightly, but only to the extent of
replacing "cgfourteen@2" with "cgfourteen at 2", making the resulting
text a useless hyperlink, converting some of the text into italics for
no obvious reason, and mangling the email address in my signature, but
none of that affects the last paragraph.
