NetBSD-9.4 and UEFI

Is NetBSD-9.4 install kernel lacking full support for UEFI? I tried
installing it as FreeBSD Bhyve VM but half way through loading the
install kernel, the VM suddenly exits/crashes without any useful info.
No such issues with NetBSD-10.

I've been able to install NetBSD-9.4 using Grub loader, but I prefer
UEFI and would like to understand the root cause of this issue. Anyone
tried this with Bhyve and succeeded? Are there some magic options to
make it work?
